"I am happy with the Trekabout experience and I'm glad I came...The Trekabout trip was an awesome experience for me. It has exposed me to many of the issues within the world first hand. The time spent in fellowship with other Christians on the trip has challenged my way of thinking about church as we compared the various practices of our own churches and compared them to other members of the teams church and in particular the local Nepalese churches. Various parts of my personality were also tested, such as patience and acceptance, when things didn't go to plan. The trip was a wonderful experience and more Christians need to go on similar trips."

From Ailyn...

"I learned a lot in any and every situation."

Some of Luke's comments...

"Yes. I am definitely glad we chose to go on the STM to Nepal. The experiences were many, and varied... Getting to see how people live in other parts of the world our eyes began to open... I was blown away at the openness of the people to the gospel; their responsiveness; their faith; their awareness of the spiritual realm."

"Overall, it was a truly wonderful experience, where friendships were formed within the team from Australia, France and our dear Nepali brothers, who worked hard and served us endlessly. The mountainous areas of Nepal are absolutely breathtaking."

Richard had this to say...

"It was a great experience on which I often reflect. I feel so blessed to have been part of the trip... I really enjoyed the ministry opportunities we had on the trek. These were by far the highlight of my trip. God showed me things through these experiences that I think about all the time.

"I was not prepared for the hunger for Gospel truth, which we encountered. I was impacted by the faith levels and expectation of the believers we met along the way. I was surprised at how much they were encouraged by our being there. It was great to see how God is using the ministry tools that GRN has, to further His kingdom. I was a little sceptical as to how useful they would be prior to the trip but I was amazed to see peoples faces light up when they heard the Gospel truth in their own language...

"I have been so impacted by the 6-day trek. It was of immense value to me on so many levels. I feel it challenged me on so many levels, physically, mentally and spiritually to name a few... Trekabout was an all round great experience that I will remember for life. It was great to see what God is doing in Nepal and the way He is calling His people en mass. It was amazing to see the reaction of people who were hearing the gospel for the first time, in their own languages.

"It was inspiring for me to see the faith of so many Nepali believers who's faith and expectation are amongst the most passionate I've witnessed. I noticed lots of early church characteristics within the churches in Nepal.

"I would recommend the Trekabout experience to anyone wishing to see what God is doing in Nepal or people interested in the work GRN does. This experience will leave you changed, inspired and motivated to take up your place in building God's kingdom, whatever that may be!"

Comments from Pam...

"...I felt oppression at the Hindu and Buddhist temples and didn't want to be there, but I knew that we had to see and feel the local religions so that we could see the futility of them, enabling us to want to share with Nepalis the hope of knowing Christ...

"I learned to adapt to each new day and situation.  For me the ablutions or lack of same was a bit disconcerting but after a few days you get used to it.  It was good to experience how village people do hospitality, sharing their homes with us...

"The Trekabout trip to Nepal has been life changing for me.  At first I was reluctant to go but God really wanted me to see the local church and meet Nepali Christians.  He also wanted me to see how hungry the Nepalis are to hear the Good News of Jesus...

"There are no mountains in Australia, there is no flat ground in Nepal.  The trek was challenging, the views spectacular, and the people's faces radiant as they heard the messages on the Saber in their own language."

"I went to Trekabout excited about what the trip could hold. I came back after not only having an awesome time and meeting some great people, but having the added bonus of being challenged in my faith and gaining a greater understanding of God. I would greatly encourage anyone who is considering going on Trekabout to give it a go."
