History

Sierra Leone was founded as a home for freed slaves in 1797. It was the first West African country to be evangelised. The first Protestant Church was started among freed slaves in Freetown, yet after over 200 years of effort, under 12% of the country claims to be Christian. (From 'Operation World')

The country emerged from a decade of civil war in 2002 with the help of Britain and a large United Nations peace keeping mission. It now faces the huge challenge of reconstruction.

Recording in Africa - It's no joke...: Breakdown in rebel territory... car accident... stolen luggage... arrest and imprisonment... amazing release... and mission accomplished!

Kono Report: To us Kono is an unreached area. Even the muslims who are there find it difficult to pray. There are no houses in Kono. The team slept on bare floor. All the houses in this place were burnt by the rebels.

Outreach in Sierra Leone: The second night we showed the same Jesus Film with one Old Testament story on Joshua. We had over 11,000 people watching the film again. The 197 counselors and 60 prayer warriors could not count all the people that accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Jesus makes a difference in Sierra Leone: Exciting results of a recent outreach in Sierra Leone.

The War and the Gospel: Every time I think of what we went through these past years, I feel a cold chill running down my spine.
