Oceania Region

Tue 1 Aust/Nepal: Continue to remember Graydon Colville and the 'Trekabout' team in Nepal. Noel and Mary Bachelor arrive in Sydney today following training courses in Africa.

Wed 2 Aust: Answered prayer! Office manager, Rob McDonell gives thanks for assistance from accountant, Wira Dharma.

Thu 3 Aust: Kim and Meryl Knight move to Esperance this month. They plan to continue studio and training work including recording of Aboriginal languages from a GRN office in Western Australia. Keep them and their family in your prayers.

Fri 4 PNG: The Lord protected and guided Sybil Shaw through her recording trip in October and enabled her to accomplish 25 recording programmes in 11 languages.

Sat 5 Indonesia: Pray for Jopie Ratu, Indonesian Director. Titik Gideon recorded the Good News and Look, Listen and Live series in the KOROWAI language recently. A missionary wrote, "We praise God because He is using the GRN recordings (with Saber and Messenger players) to reach the Korowai people with His message of salvation."

Sun 6 Philippines: Jurine Tolentino is Director/Recordist. Prayer is needed for an upgrade of equipment and for staff and associates affected by typhoons. Staff Member, Mary Ann and volunteers plan distribution of recordings in Isabela Province during the third week of December.

Mon 7 Vanuatu: Chris and Cheryl Mason and the family are having a break in Brisbane. Pray for Jones Sanga as he distributes materials in the Solomon Islands.

Tue 8 Singapore: David Lim seeks local Christian businessmen, willing to take Gospel CD's to the Middle East. Pray for distribution in Sabah, where there are more than 50 tribal groups.

Asia Region

Wed 9 India: In Bangalore, Thejus Anand is the Director of the GR Association. Lok Gurung and the team in Siliguri, ask prayer for the A... project where the Buddhist people would not allow the translation and recording work. Swapan Roy's team works from Kolkata. He plans to take 1000 CDs to the BHILI people this month and in Jan. they go to Muslim West Bengal.

Thu 10 Bangladesh: James Karmakar directs the recording and distribution work. Ranjan plans to record in the DUAL and MIGNAM languages. In February 2010 David Halder will be celebrating 20 years of LRI/HELP ministry for destitute children.

Fri 11 Nepal: Thank God for protection of the Nepal team this year. Director Surendra Shrestha is with Graydon Colville and the 'Trekabout' team. Pray for their witness in the villages.

Sat 12 S W Asia: Samuel Paul and his staff work in a very dangerous country. Pray for God's protection every day.

Sun 13 Myanmar: Al and James ask prayer as they edit recordings of the Good News in 3 new dialects. May these Buddhist people have prepared hearts to receive the message of Jesus.

Mon 14 STH Korea: Barnabas Cho directs the ARM (GRN) ministries in a comparatively 'closed country' near Korea.

Tue 15 Thailand: Jon Rulison directs the team at the Sounds of Language Foundation. A MPI priest, who watched an evangelistic video, showed it to his students. Pray for the Spirit of Christ to show them His salvation.

Wed 16 S E Asia: Pray for God to use the witness of Lot, Phet and Boy (Thai staff) among the un-reached Ugong people and pray for recordings distributed in Laos and Vietnam.

Thu 17 Australia: Darren Cooper led a great team of volunteers in the assembly of over 8000 SABER MP3 players this year. The rechargeable batteries have caused some problems but plans are in place to upgrade the player in the New Year.

Fri 18 David Miller is developing an application to keep digital copies of GRN recordings in centres around the world. This will allow production of high quality CDs in the local languages.

Sat 19 Part time members, Beryl Matete and Nellie Francis, have contributed much to the work. Thank God for Andrew Francis in the Orders and Despatch Department.

Africa Region

Sun 20 South Africa: Dalene Joubert is the hard-working Director of Good News Media. In the last 3 months GNM distributed over 2,500 recorded programs in 37 languages to 10 countries in southern Africa, the Comoros and Madagascar, 216 MP3 players and over 2,000 Bible picture charts.

Mon 21 Kenya: Winston Omenya is Director. Walter is the accountant. Boaz is the recordist. A new vehicle and computer are their main needs for prayer.

Tue 22 Nigeria: Director Kish Bai recently conducted an outreach in 7 different language groups. Pray for spiritual 'fruit'.

Wed 23 Sierra Leone: Pray for Andrew Kanu leading the GRSL work. Fredrick Kargbo is preparing to become a Recordist Trainer.

Thu 24 Gambia: Augustus McJohnson leads the work, assisted by David Kamara. Teams are translating the Good News scripts for future projects in Chad.

Fri 25 Christmas Day: Rejoice! It is a joy to be involved in sharing the reason for Christmas in so many languages. Pray for GRN staff and their families as they celebrate today.

Sat 26 Burkina Faso: Jacques Nignan is Director and Esaie the Recordist. Work was disrupted by the floods in August. Thanks to those who sent relief gifts. Senegal: Joel Diouf is planning distribution outreach.

Sun 27 Cameroon: Alain Limbo directs the work; Godswill Chongsi and Joseph are the recordists in the Yaounde base. Pray for the 3 recordists who attended the 3-week training course with Noel and Mary Bachelor and Fredrick Kargbo.

Mon 28 Togo: Sodalo Clement and Atta are the GRN recordists based in Lome. Pray for effective distribution of new recordings for the CENKA: Kyenga speakers of Benin. Togo and Benin need resources to record in four new languages.

Tue 29 Sudan: A shipment of Saber players has been sent to the ACROSS work in Southern Sudan. Pray for their use in a Congolese refugee camp there. A major project to record the Gospel in over 20 languages in Ethiopia is being planned.

Wed 30 African Agents: There are GRN agents in DRCKinshasa, Congo-Brazzaville, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Guinea, Benin, Malawi, Senegal, Ethiopia and in a Nth West African country. Pray for them as they channel materials to Christian workers.

Thu 31 Finances: The African GRN work and workers have been particularly affected by the world financial crisis. Pray for more funds and workable solutions.


January 2010

Fri 1 Praise God for another year to spread the message of Jesus. May all GRN workers be found faithful in service, ready for Jesus' return at any time!

Sat 2 Australia: Graham Schabel is working on matching audio commentaries in different languages to the flip chart pictures, thus allowing people to view and download these online. Pray for ways to provide these resources to minority groups.

Sun 3 PNG/Milne Bay: After 3 years of trying, Sybil Shaw was able to record the Good News script in TAUPOTA and KAKABAI. Sabers will be used to share these new recordings.

Europe Region

Mon 4 UK: Director Kenny (and Joan) McKee praise God for another opportunity to record and distribute in Kosova last month. Switzerland: Pierre Andre leads the Audio Gospel Suisse and oversees the work in francophone Africa.

Tue 5 Germany: Gerhard and Elisabeth Koester distribute recordings as part of ISM - the Internationale Sprachen Mission. Geert and Michou now coordinate the work in Belgium.

Wed 6 France: Marc Descheemaecker is moving to Southern France to establish a GRN office. Daniel supervises staff in francophone Africa. Carlos and Yousef are agents in Spain.

Thu 7 Netherlands: Director Roeli Elbers has recovered well from heart surgery. She has plans for further recordings in the SAMI language in Norway.

Fri 8 Russia: Dan Rulison, now based in USA with Joan and family, returned to Siberia to assist Tim and Iris Loomans with building last month. The Loomans recently ministered to the Tuvan and Altai peoples and did recordings in their languages.

Sat 9 Australia: Pray for GRN Board Chairman, Mark Neasey and the Board members - Geoff Bartlett, Kristen Bayliss, Royalene Edwards, Art Daniel, Robert Love, Ian Wallace and Paul Weekley. Pray for the Board as they implement a 5 year strategic plan and seek to assist the overseas centres and bases.

Sun 10 Thank God for GRN Representatives: Sue and David Pindar (WA - 08 9390 1283), Richard Roper (VIC - 03 9391 4371), Bob and Pam White (QLD - 07 3374 2031) Linda Hjort (TAS. - 03 6394 7469) and Rob Nathan (SA - 0402 030 784) as they seek to represent the work in Australia. In New Zealand our agent is Bryan Hawkins (+ 64 4 232 6222).

Mon 11 Next Saturday 16th January, The GRN staff and Board plan to acknowledge Kevin Sylvester, Helen Gemeren and Diana Catts for their service on the Board over many years. Please call the office if you can join us for a BBQ tea.

Americas Region

Tue 12 USA: GR USA have celebrated 70 years of ministry. Pray for Colin Stott and the Temecula team. Finances have been tight. Pray for guidance concerning future planning and provision. Thank God for 5 new staff members this year.

Wed 13 Canada: Pray for David Elliott and his office staff, Doug Lambie, Ruth Somers, John and Barb Ray. Thank God for 40 years of ministry in Canada. Ruth Elliott is in Australia for a year to assist with data entry and archive systems.

Thu 14 Mexico: Chucho Loyo is acting director of Buenas Nuevas in Oaxaca. David and Gerry Gutierrez oversee recordists in Latin America and plan outreach and training programs. Jaime and Esther Hernandez are their recordists.

Fri 15 Brazil: American recordist E.peen with Gracie Mota and Fernanda Mattos, continue to record in the remote villages of the Amazon and conduct education programs for the people.

Sat 16 Argentina: Daniel Lopez is GRN's agent. Rick McArthur represents the work in Guatemala.

Sun 17 Peru: Veronica Martinez married Australian, Simon Beech, in Mexico last year. She continues to work with Elda Arguello. Praise God for Delfin Ovalle from Australia and the team from Chile who took part in the Aventura Misionera outreach last July.

Mon 18 Bolivia: Chuy and Yovana Tejeda are the trained GRN recordists working in Bolivia.

Tue 19 Australia: Please pray for speaking opportunities in 2010. Call the Sydney office (02 9899 2211) or a Representative to invite a GRN member to speak in your church or home group. Thank God for some good responses through the GRN Website. Pray for Rob McDonell as he updates and improves the site.

Wed 20 Praise God, for provision of our needs last year in spite of the economic downturn. Please pray that GRN Australia can increase its contribution towards needy overseas Centres.

Thu 21 Vanuatu: Chris and Cheryl Mason and family, would Dec '09 - Jan '10 value prayer as they settle into a new house in Vanuatu this week, and apply for residency and work permits.

GRN International

Fri 22 GRN: Please pray for GRN International Coordinator, Doug Armstrong as he travels world-wide. Pray for God's choice of a replacement for Doug when he retires next year.

Sat 23 GRN: The GRN Executive Committee (EXCOM) consists of Graydon Colville (Oceania Region), Sally Hogg (Europe), Jacques Nignan (Africa), Colin Stott (Americas), Barnabas Shrestha (Asia) with Doug Armstrong. Pray for good outcomes as a result of their meetings in Thailand in November.

Sun 24 GRN Mobilisers: Pray for guidance for Alex Shaw, Ross Lange, and Allan Starling who are responsible for providing information to assist with the recording programs.

Mon 25 Short Term Missions for 2010: GRN Australia has led 'Wokabaut' programs to PNG, Solomon Islands, Nepal, Bangladesh and Peru. Pray for the planning of future short term missions to give young people a 'mission experience' and provide outreach with the Gospel.

Tue 26 Training and Recording Programs for 2010: Pray for Alex Shaw and other GRN leaders as they organise the training for GRN workers. The GRN recordists need guidance as they seek to record the 'priority languages' in their areas.

Wed 27 Distribution: Pray for all the GRN personnel and their contacts to find opportunities to distribute the GRN materials. Pray that the Holy Spirit will give understanding as the materials are used to spread the Gospel.

Thu 28 Spiritual Life: All GRN workers need a strong faith in God. Pray that they will keep their eyes on Jesus as they serve Him, especially in times of stress.

Fri 29 Australia: Graydon Colville needs constant prayer for his leadership in Australia, GRN and the Oceania Region. Pray for God's guidance concerning the need for more office space to allow for expansion of the work in Sydney.

Sat 30 Praise God for new full and part-time members and for the extra volunteer staff who joined the work in 2009. May He send the right personnel as the work expands and older members leave this year.

Sun 31 Praise God for all our GRN Prayer Partners! We acknowledge this is God's work and without Him we can accomplish nothing. So thank you and please keep praying!
