From the GRN Australia Director - July 2007

There are so many things to pray about! But how should you pray concerning these matters.

Matthew 6:9 says, "This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name...'"

From Jesus' own 'model prayer' we learn that the honour of God's name should be our first concern when we pray, not safety, not good health, not happiness, not even 'success' in ministry, but the honour of God's name. These other matters are not unimportant, but sometimes God's ways of working out His plans catch us by surprise! God doesn't do things 'our way'! It is often through our weakness that God's power is displayed (see 2 Corinthians 12:9).

God's name is honoured when his Word is declared. He is honoured when an unbeliever repents and submits himself or herself to His lordship. He is honoured when His people live obedient, faithful lives.

So please pray that in all the circumstance you read about in this month's 'Rejoice', God's name will be honoured, the Gospel proclaimed, people saved and the lives of God's people (GRN staff in particular) will reflect the character of Christ.

When you pray for the honour of God's name, you pray according to His will and you can be sure that your prayers are heard and answered.

Your prayers are a vital part of the ministry of GRN.

May God bless you and encourage you as you pray.

In Christ's service,

Graydon Colville
